Hire us for an incredible outdoor education experience! We can facilitate agriculture workshops, field trips, farm tours, and service learning projects. These events can be in-person or virtual. Our staff can also come visit locations within St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and East St. Louis. In 2022 we engaged 325 young people across the greater St. Louis Area!
With the support of partners like earthday365, we are able to host clean up efforts in North St. Louis City. This year we are projecting to clean up over 10,000 pounds of trash! Help us fight environmental racism in St. Louis!
Ujima, George Washington Carver Farms, Optimistic Theory LLC, The Nature Conservancy and STL Youth Jobs are partnering to facilitate the 3rd cohort of the Apprenticeship Program. This summer experience will provide paid apprenticeships to local youth ages 16-20. During the sixteen-week program starting June 2023, participants will get hands-on experience in urban agriculture, culinary arts, and entrepreneurship. Participants will attend outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and a float trip as well as monthly mental health check-ins with Occupational Therapist, Dr. Brittany Conners.
The communities we serve, Fairground Neighborhood and Hyde Park Neighborhood, have been devastated by food apartheid, and don't have the adequate resources or systems for fresh produce, herbs, and meals. Most of the produce we grow is donated to families who are struggling with food security. Be on the look out for us this growing season at Be Well Farmers Market, A Red Circle's Healthy Community Market, and City Greens Market!
